The palace was originally owned by the noble family Dandolo and it hosts since 1638 the first public Ridotto, a place where people of all kinds (nobles, adventurers, travelers, cheats, prostitutes) retired for their affairs: gambling, social and political relations and pleasures.
In this “Ridotto” Giacomo Casanova legends took place and here he became famous for his conquests.
